BRIEF HISTORY
The first Samithi at Coimbatore was inaugurated on 14.09.1966 at the house of Late Shri M. Subramaniam Chettiar, Modern Press Compound, Trichy Road. Late Shri Duraisamy Chettiar was the then President, with Late Shri Subramaniam Chettiar himself being the Chairman. The other founder members were Late Shri Manickam Chettiar, Shri N.S Krishnamoorthy, Prof Shri A Varadarajulu and Shri R Murugan.
Later under the guidance of the then West Zone (Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiri & Dindigul) Coordinator Shri KR Sachidanandam, a few new Samithis were inaugurated as follows
26.02.1990 – Peelamedu Samithi
04.03.1990 – R S Puram Samithi
11.03.1990 – Sivananda Colony Samithi
18.03.1990 – Saibaba Colony Samithi
20.10.1990 – Race Course Samithi.
Now the District has 18 Samithis and 12 Bhajana Mandalis.

Aum Sri Sairam!
Offering my humble Pranams at the Divine Lotus Feet. I was blessed by Swami to take charge as the District president of Coimbatore seven years before. The path was well laid before me by very Senior Devotees of Coimbatore like Sachithanandam Sairam, Dr.Punnaivannam Sairam and many more. Swami has blessed our district by His many divine visits which gathered a huge number of ardent Devotees and also dedicated Sevadals here. With all their support and love my task as a District President of Coimbatore has been a shower of Bliss on me. I am always Grateful to Swami who gave me the opportunity to Serve Him through all these means. I pray to Bhagawan to bless the district in undertaking the Divine tasks and accomplishing it in the best manner.
